Board of Directors

Mrs. Amalia Reuel – Founder: A graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem with a Piano major, Reuel then continued her studies at the Manes School of Music in New York. After a short tenure teaching at the Rubin Academy, in 1973, Reuel established the Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna with the guiding vision that every child can, and deserves to have the opportunity to experience high quality music education. That vision guided Reuel throughout the 33 years in which she served as Executive Director. It is to her credit that the Conservatory, until the present time, is recognized as one of Israel’s premier institutes of music education. Reuel has been a Hassadna board member since 2001.

Adv. Amir Kadari – Chairman: Kadari serves as the managing partner of Tal, Kadari, Shamir Law offices, specializing in commercial and administrative law. As part of  his public and social activities Kadari served for 15 years as Chair of the Keshet School in Jerusalem, served for 10 years on the board of Shira Hadasha Community in Jerusalem, and served as a member of  the legal committee of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel. Kadari serves as the chairman of the board of Directors of the Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna.

Adv. Mattan Meridor: Meridor holds a B.A. in Law from the Hebrew University and an LLM from the London School of Economics. Having previously worked in the UK, he is currently a practicing attorney in Jerusalem. A dedicated music lover and pianist, Meridor serves as the Chairman of Hassadna’s Board of Directors, is a board member of the Jerusalem Music Center and serves as the Chairman of the Israeli Chamber Project. Meridor has been a Hassadna board member since 2007.

Mrs. Aliza Levin: Levin was born in Warsaw in 1938 and immigrated to Israel in 1941. She holds a degree in violin from the Tel Aviv Academy of Music. Levin was instrumental in the establishment of Hassadna, was its primary music theory instructor for over two decades and served as Associate Director prior to being appointed Executive Director from 1998-2000. Married to Ambassador Aryeh Levin, she resides in Jerusalem. Levin has been a Hassadna board member since 2002.

Adv. Yeheskell Beinisch: Beinisch, a distinguished attorney, has been practicing law since 1967 and currently works in Jerusalem. His areas of specialty include international business law, commercial law, aerial law, medical malpractice and more. Originally from Haifa, for many years he was employed as a professional viola and trombone player with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Radio Orchestra and other orchestras. He currently engages in significant civic activity and serves as a board member with several music, arts and festival groups. Beinisch has been a Hassadna board member since 1977.

Mrs. Tamar Ahronovitch: A native of Haifa, Ahronovich studied poetry at the Hebrew University. She was mentored by some of Israel’s most outstanding poets including Yehuda Amichai and Agi Mishol and a variety of her works have been published in Israel. For nearly 30 years she was married to the world renowned conductor Yuri Ahronivich and was at his side throughout his distinguished career. Since his untimely death in 2002, Ahronovich has initiated a variety of projects that pay tribute to his spiritual legacy and honor his memory. Ahronovitch has been a Hassadna board member since 2003.

Mrs. Shari Greenberg: Shari Greenberg was born in London and immigrated to Israel in 1982. She holds a degree in musicology from the University of Wales and a teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Music. From 1972-1992, Shari Greenberg taught music and subsequently joined the Israel Festival as Director of Music. She currently works with the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival. Shari Greenberg has been a Hassadna board member since 2009.

Adv. Shmuel Semmel: Semmel holds a B.A. in Economics from the Hebrew University and a LLB from Sha’ari – Mishpat College. He currently manages his own law office. Semmel has served on the boards of a number of public institutes including a term as President of the Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce from 2001-2006. Semmel has been a Hassadna board member since 2002.

Adv. Itzchak Zack: Zack holds an LLB from the Hebrew University and has enjoyed an impressive business career. Currently one of the founders of Basta Online, he previously served as co-founder, CEO and President of Promo Arena and held positions of substantial responsibility at firms such as Comverse, Israel Spandex Company and others. Zack was also a manager at Evergreen Partners, one of Israel’s leading venture capital firms. Zack has been a Hassadna board member since 2000.
